[After XOs were used in Nigeria to download porn, OLPC said that] the computers, part of a pilot scheme, would now be fitted with filters.

How come they didn’t expect that?

  1. Perhaps filters would be effective on the computers, but what is even more important is to provide training for the teachers and a discussion with students about what is appropriate and what is not. How audacious to give new tools to someone and not show them how to use it properly!
